O personagem principal, Jakob Fabian (Tom Schilling), é um ex-combatente da primeira guerra e redator publicitário que passa as noites ao lado de seu amigo intelectual Stephan Labude (Albrecht Schuch) vagando por bordéis. O longuíssimo filme (150 min) de Dominik Graf é “um filme sem enredo, uma história de seu tempo, de amor e perda, e nada mais”, conforme descreveu o site Spoiler. A história (que história?) é baseada no romance homônimo de Erich Kästner, publicado em 1931 e posteriormente banido e queimado pelos nazistas. O release é um AVI, com 3,66GB.
